Hello Tripoli Minnesota Members,
The board has made arrangements for our Prefecture to purchase rocket motors and supplies through Chris’ Rocket Supplies. We expect to be conducting these purchases every 6 to 8 weeks depending upon the participation by the members. We had spoken with four different vendors about prefecture purchases and Chris’ Rocket Supplies is the only one that is currently carrying both AeroTech and Cesaroni motors so the choice was based on providing the most motor options to our members.
When you place an order you will not pay any shipping fees. Upon completion of the order the Prefecture will pay the shipping fees including hazmat. Subsequently, you will be billed by the Prefecture for your prorated portion of the shipping fees. The benefit to each of you is that the shipping fees plus 3% to cover PayPal costs of the Prefecture will be prorated across all those ordering based on the amount each person purchases in the prefecture order. If the cost of your items amounts to 5% of the order your shipping cost would be about 5.15% of the total shipping charges. What this means is that the hazmat fees will be distributed across the entire order cost and so each individual will not need to pay the full hazmat fees for each order that they place.
The ordering process will work as follows:
- Go to Chris’ Rocket Supplies (www.csrocketry.com) and select the items you would like to order.
- Go to the cart and in the Promotional code or gift card box enter pickup. Notice that pickup is in lower case.
- Go to checkout and examine your invoice to make sure that no shipping charges are included. If there are, the pickup promo code in step 2 was not entered correctly. Go back to step 2 and fix the entry.
- After step 3 is successful go to the bottom of the checkout page in the Delivery Notes or Additional Comments box enter Tripoli Minnesota.
- Now pay for your order. There should be no shipping charges paid at this time.
- When you receive your motor invoice email a copy to Carsten at treasurer@tripolimn.org so that the shipping costs can be prorated across all those that placed orders (see step 8 below).
- We will be setting an order end date that the orders must be completed by each time we go through this process. For this first order the end date will be March 28th, 2026, inclusive. Note that if you’ve ordered one or more items that were out of stock they will be shipped with the next prefecture order that is shipped after the vendor receives the product from the manufacturer. This means that no out of stock items will hold up shipments.
- The items will be shipped to Terry Zien and those who have placed orders will be contacted by the Prefecture Treasurer (Carsten) within a couple days after the order end date with your shipping costs. Please pay these to the Treasurer once you receive the invoice.
- Once the shipment is received and unpacked Terry will contact all those with orders for them to pick up their items from his house. He will set a couple of multiple hour windows for pickups to occur. There will not be delivery of these items to the launch site. Make sure that you will be able to pick up these items at one of the two windows provided.
- Any shipment errors will need to be resolved with Chris’ Rocket Supplies.
- If you have questions regarding the purchasing process there is a detailed Group Purchase Process document posted on the Tripoli Minnesota website for your review. Alternatively, contact a Board member for clarification.
